My hair is driving me crazy.?

So i am a guy with curly caucasian hair. My mom has bone straight hair and my dad has curly hair. Out of four brothers they all have awsome straight hair except for me. I have always had curly hair. Like full on curly. I have been searching forever to find something that i can put into my hair that will make it not even straight, but wavy, but i havent been able to find anything. Please dont say buy a hair straightener or why straighten your curls because ive heard it all before and i really have tried to live with it, but its just impossible for me. So, if anyone has any ideas or items theyve used before and believe works and makes their hair not only significantly straighter, but it stays like that for liek a month or so, please notify me. Thanks alot. p.s. i am like fifteen so it cant be like super expensive.

ask a hairdresser at your local salon i am sure they would know

what she said

there are all kinds of products, but the best bet would always be to ask your stylist, if you don't go to the same person everytime just go somewhere you trust and ask what the best product would be for your hair type. i wouldn't try to make it straight, just make it manageable. john freida products for curly hair are pretty good, and if you have frizzy hair, frizz ease seems to work for most of the people in my family.

i have the opposite problem, i wish my hair would curl...

My hair is driving me crazy.?

Honestly, take it from me. I'm sixteen, and ever since I was 5 I hated my hair. I mean REALLY hated it. I would try to cut it off when my parents weren't looking, etc.

So two years ago, I decided hell with my curly hair, and I got it professionally straightened. With a fabulous hairdresser, by the way, so it wasn't her fault.

I spent at least 300 dollars on my handheld straightener and chemical straightening.

You know what happened? I woke up really early, and straightened my hair with the handheld, right after having pretty much toxins poured into my hair to make it straight. I was so excited, and went to school. After third period, I went into the bathroom to admire my hair. You know what I saw?

Curls, EVERYWHERE! Not only that, but it was frizzier and bone dry, despite the globs of leave in conditioner I used. I nearly cried. For the last two years, my hair has been way worse, and it is just now getting better, and I will never straighten my hair again.

I'm not going to lie to you, I still don't like my hair. I have expirimented with quite a few colors (I have highlighted my hair three differnt colors and even dyed it purple for two weeks) and it is still curly and frizzy. I regret the day I tried to change my hair, and although I will always want beautiful smooth straight silky hair, thats just not what I have.

You can do whatever you want to your hair, but don't say I didn't warn you! It sounds like we have the same hair type, and my hair just doesn't straighten. Good luck!

Oh, and try the Aveda curls stuff. It is great!
