becuase their hair isnt like ours...not being rude. its just they have different hair...its harder to manage....and its harder to grow for most of the people i know. so they get wigs.....why do all these white chicks get fake titties?? its kinda the same answer.

People of African descent have hair that is drier, more difficult to manage and easier to damage, thus is more difficult to style and still look healthy.

The weave offers an alternative to that. White women don't use them because our hair is naturally more oily and easier to style.

I think it has to do with society standards of beauty and the pressure to fit in with what society says is considered more beautiful. Like getting a tan or wearing make up. Same goes with women getting breast implants or wearing extensions. Society dictates for all women what's considered the norm.

To be honest it could be a number of things such as balding, bad hair days, cheaper than getting hair done frequently, easier to manage, more options, or to old to dedicate time to keeping hair done. I'm not sure if I answered your question but the other answers are true too. We do have naturally dry hair and it takes a lot to keep the hair looking maintained and neat. For healthy hair black people would probably have to get there hair done every one to two weeks can be a big hassle sometimes, especially if they can't afford it.

I think that it has to do with the ability to just change up your style on a whim that is a wonderful option to have and yes other races do it too, have you happened to look at all the pop tarts and other celebs do you think that is what the wake up looking like? I think if you are really asking you would have taken the time to notice that all women were fake hair cus we are women and we can.
