Hair??????????

I always wear my hair up. my hair is curly and every time i streighten it, it gets all poofy. even if i streiten it at night. sorry about my spelling. people at school streighten their hair and is not poofy at all. and it shiny and dosent look dry. how do you make your hair streight and shiny and not poofy with just using a streitener and regular shmpo and conditioner? is it cause i wash my hair every day? my hair always looks gressy.

Hair??????????

I think you should let your curls go wild. I always envy girls that have crazy curls. It adds an element of fun to them and always gets them noticed.

To prevent your curls from getting too frizzy, apply a leave in conditioner and let them naturally dry. Then lighty spritz with hair spray.

Hair??????????

Usually hair gets greasy if you just straighten it from curls, and it will try to go back to curls once you are finished.

So what I suggest is you blow dry your hair first, it will go into a dry poof ball of doom. Then straighten it and it should be fine!

It will not try to go back to curly or poof out. Good luck.

Hair??????????

My advice is to maybe get some hair serum such as "bed head". Washing your hair everyday washes away the natural oils. And you shouldnt condition your hair at the roots unless you recentally dyed it.

Hair??????????

ok well are you sure your not using a crappy straightener?if it costs below 50$ its no good. i have a CHI and its about 100$ and its a ceramic straigtener. It is awesome and makes my hair soft, silky, and shiny! i aslo use heat protector called biosilk that i put in before and after i do my hair. It works great for me!!hope i helped=)

Hair??????????

you should use garnier fructis because that type of brand is best for your type of hair because it moisturizes it and stuff. do you use heat protectant cream? do you have a good-quality straightener? if you said yes to those questions, it's probably becasue your type of hair just can't be straightened.

Hair??????????

i think you should buy a ceramic straightener- they are better quality and you will get better results

you should also buy a different kind of shampoo, one that is more geared towards the type of hair that you have, like a curly one, or one that helps with straightening

you should also wash your hair every other day, not each day, thats probably why it looks greasy, and you should buy some protective spray for when you straighten it, and you should only straighten your hair when it is completly dry

hope this helped- good luck =)

Hair??????????

okay.. first things first you have to get a good straightener, getting a cheap one isnt likely gonna work on curly hair. Getting good straightening shampoo and conditioner will help alot too, and theres plenty of straightening gels and creams, etc. I'd try those too. Oh and its best not to shampoo your hair every day.. washing it and just putting conditioner and then shampooing every other day will help.

Hair??????????

well u said u wear ur hair up a lot

well maybe u should get some moisturizing hair cream to let it get shiny some

and ur hair is maybe a lil more curly because u wear it up a lot so i would straighten it a lot more and try to flaten it down and maybe people at ur skool have the straightener from the mall that can curl and straighten and actually put moisture in ur hair so thats probley why

Hair??????????

Go to a beauty shop and have a professional straighten your hair. It should last for a few months so probably will be cheaper in the long run.

Hair??????????

You always condition at the scalp level as it is the base of your hair. What it sounds like is product build-up. You should get a clarifying shampoo, a good conditioner with humectants in it, blow dry as another person said and use the iron that you've always been using. When it comes down to it, more expensive supplies and equipment saves time for busy stylists, it does not a healty style make.

*If clarifying shampoo is out of budget add a tsp of dishwashing liquid to regular shampoo and it will help break down the build up.

Hair??????????

I know exactly where you're coming from. I too have really curly hair, and I also straighten it.

Poof drives me CRAZY so this is what I usually do...

First of all make sure you're using a good straightener...they can get pretty pricey, but they're worth it TRUST ME. I use the Sedu..(tried the Chi for a bit, but it didn't last too long...) anyway, just don't use any of those cheap straighteners like conair etc, because they will damage the hell out of your hair, cause poof, take more time and they are just all around crappy.

Here is my straightening routine;

wash my hair, (dove shampoo/conditioner)...make sure you get all the conditioner out, cause that will make it feel greasy.

then I put a little bit of friz-ese (like a quarter size throughout my wet hair..then a little bit (quarter size of bio silk...) I use a quarter size, because my hair is super thick and curly...(usually you only want a dime size amount of each)

then I brush my hair out, clip it up into sections...brush, blow dry, and straighten a section before moving on to the next...I always start from the bottom first...that's the curliest part.

it seems like a lot of time, but it's really not that long if you're organized about it..turn on some music or something..haha..but anyway, the end result is worth it.. and chances of you having poof are slim if you take your time...and use the right stuff..

and after you straighten it at night wear it in a braid or something, so it doesn't get all messy.

I usually leave mine straight for a couple days before washing it..then when you wash it on that third day of having it straight it feels so soft...

hope this helped..

Hair??????????

omg! i have the same exact problem!!! i wash it, and when i dry it, welcome to poof world, lol!!! and i just cant wear my hair like that. i straighten it at night, and it looks amazing, but it is statiky and when i brush it is gets even more statiky [sorry for spelling] and then it is i lil poofy in the morning so i straighten it again and flies, and it looks so bad, compared to the girls at school who have perfect strait hair. and i always end up wearing it in a stupid pony tail everyday!!! and when i dont straiten it, it looks HORRIBLE. idk what to do either, im going to get mine cut and see if i can get some products. i think you should do that too. that is all us MESSED UP HEAD OF HAIR PEOPLE can do. lol!!! I hope i helped a bit

Hair??????????

Well if you want it to be smooth and not frizzy, but anti-frizz shampoo, or special shampoo for straight hair. This wont help with having your hair straight though, you still need to straighten it if you want to be straight. Next, after you get out of the shower, have some creme that you put into your hair that is good for straightening it. It also might be yourr straightener , because some are not good for curly hair. If you want it to be perfectly straight without frizzz it would be better to get a more expensive one. If cost is an issue, then get the best straightener you can afford.

Hope this helpsss :]
