ok here is my problem....
i have done several laser treatments to remove the hair on my chest. My chest hair is dark brown to black. After talking to the Dr. who laser's me he explained hair removal as the more you treat " witht he laser " hair becomes lighter and slows down in growth speed. Until it is finally gone. I think i understood him correctly.
so i came to the conclusion that if someone has lighter hair do they have more hair fall, or go bald sooner than ppl with dark hair?????
I have sandy blonde - to light brown hair on my head.
Am i confused?

Its all genetic honey.
We have both colors of hair and sadly FEMALE baldness.

the color of your hair has nothing to do with how fast you will bald. balding occurs over time, and is it unestimatable. the doctor meant that the hair will get "lighter" or BROKEN down more.

No... that's all in your genes. The laser just slowly kills the hair particles in your skin and they get lighter while they are dieing. then stop growing!

First, your assumption on what the Dr. explained is a little bit off. 2nd, light haired people do not go bald faster than dark haired people. Think Greeks and Italians here, but regardless it is dependent on whether you have 23rd chromosomes that carry the gene for hereditary hair loss.
For Laser Hair Removal, it is absolutely necessary that you have color in your hair for the laser to even work. The laser is attracted to melanin in the hair which causes the hair shaft to heat up and thereby destroy the follicle that produces the hair. No hair color and the laser doesn't work. What the Dr. was referring to, is that when you damage the follicle after an initial Tx, there is scar tissue that impacts the blood supply of the follicle. With less blood supply, the follicle tends to produce finer hair.
