so i have curly and puffy hair and lots of it. i dont have kinky hair and i dont use perms. i usually straighten my hair with a flat iron. but i realized that its damaging my hair especially my ends. so my hairdresser trimmed my ends and everything and told me that i should try mousse (i bought Aussie foam mousse) and she told me to try this Spanish hair cream called Cerimidas (its in a pink bottle). well i read the directions and it said that after your wash your hair while its wet you put it on your hair. so i did that, i took sections of my hair and put the mousse and hair lotion on each section then i let it airdry. after it dried it was somewhat curly but so puffy. so did i do it right? should i have combed it through my hair? what are the steps and how can i use the mousse and hair lotion so that i get looser curls/"spanish curls" or get it so that its not soo puffy/poofy???

after you put the mousse in your hair, you should scrunch it up toward your head with your hands, that makes it curl...make sure that all of your hair gets the mousse on it too or else part of your hair will be all puffy

2. take 3 inch sections and a bigger hair curler and curl your hair.

3. flip your head over after you curl everything and LOOSELY run your fingers through- dont do too much.

4. spray with a hairspray to hold it :)

Then wait until your hair is wet/damp. Make sure your hair is not dripping wet when you scrunch it.

Then put mousse/gel in your hair and grab a handfull of hair like a "claw" and push the hair up to your scalp and hold it. Repeat until all hair is scrunched.

Note: Do not put mousse/gel in your roots because it will look very greasy.

not sure about hamsters, but my rabbits shed every 3 months, one the alternate shedding they lose almost all their hair, and it grows back in about a week. but it could be a medical issue and should be taken to the vet.

Nowadays I see girls and ladies do hair cutting in the front portions of their head. They cut their long hair to 2 inches in front portions of their head. Some cut their side burns hair also. They cut the hair about 2 inches length from forehead till the centre of their head. Please tell me is it to avoid clipping or pinning hair pins in the front locks of hair? I'm considering seriously shaving my hair off b/c I regret continously straightened my hair every other week for 4 yrs for the sake of having 'good hair' (the kind of hair thats 'acceptable')

Ive only used chemicals to straighten my hair 2X. All the other times I just did wash and set using a blow dryer. I want my hair to be back to they way it naturally was before I started straightening. It's not very damaged-at least not shockingly damaged. If you saw it I think you would agree I have "strong" hair (it hasnt fallen out or broken from all the wash and sets) but it is no way the same as it once was. Now I would define it as "less big."

I believe that even using products to 'restore' my hair wont make it the exact same as it was. Should I shave it to start over again or is there a better option? I want to leave it curly from now on but dont know what products to use.

You can keep trimming it until all the chemically treated hair has grown out. Use a protein pack conditioner like I.C. If you do shave it, you can put a little olive oil on your scalp to keep it healthy and protect it from the sun.

What would a stylist have to do to get it back to light blonde? And would my hair all die and fall out from being lightened so long, then darkened, then lightened again? I'm desperate for advice!!!

im not a pro but i also dye my hair and have been for years. ya wanna know they best way to get your natural color back? let it grow out! i know i know...it takes so long and looks bad...but let it grow out enough so you (or your stylist) can see what color your roots are (your hair color can darken/lighten after a few years of dying it) and have them match that for the next dye...having dark hair you'll prolly need to bleach or strip it down then dye it back to the matched natural color (natural highlights too i guess) i just grow mine out and deal with having two hair colors (ive done this twice now...once with black dye and once with red -im a dark blonde too-) maybe your stylist doesnt know what theyre doing?

Your stylist can use a color remover, or bleach. You could also buy bleach yourself, but I wouldn't reccomend it since it's not neccisary.

If you don't want to bleach it, but want to do it at home, you can do one of two things:

1. Buy a color remover from any beauty supply store, like Sally's, and see it that lightens it enough to dye it a light blonde.

2. Dye it a medium blonde and 3 weeks later dye it a light ash blonde. This should leave you with a light blonde.

There's a product I've been reading about that might help http://www.folica.com/one__n_only_Col_d3... (try this link). Its called one n' only colorfix. I read some of the reviews on this (some people send in pictures, which make the product seem fab) and it is supposed to be great for removing colour and people tend to say that it doesn't damage the hair too much. Apparently it is different to bleaching but effective in removing unwanted colour. Not so good on semi-permanent though.

I haven't tried it myself yet though as it is out of stock but you might be able to find it elsewhere. Well worth checking out.

Depends on how damaged your hair is. Your stylist should tell you when your hair can be dyed again by the texture of your current hair. If it feels healthy and there aren't a lot of breakage, it should be fine to do it.

Give it a few hot oil treatment by V05 and that will help your hair a ton!

you should start using a serum for heating products that protect your hair against the heat. There are many products on the market that advertises this, just go to your favorite beauty salon or even grocery store and they will have some.

also when using your straightener, do not leave it on one place too long and make sure your hair is 150% dry before using it, because using a straightener on evenly barely wet hair will damage it.

I have soft straight hair but I always wanted to have curls. I went to the hairdresser once to curl my hair but the hairdresser told me not to as my curls won't last long as my hair is too soft. It would be a waste of money to maintain my curls since they don't last long. Furthermore, it causes great damage to my hair.

In the end, I decided to go to bed with my hair tied in buns. When I wake up the following morning, I would take out the rubber bands and poof! I HAVE CURLS.

However, I can't comb my hair as the curls will dissappear so I would go to school with my hair messy but curly. Some of friends commented that they prefer me with my soft straight hair to the messy "bed-hair" look while the others prefer the latter.

You've got really great hair for all kinds of styles. Your jawline is wider than your temples, so I would steer clear of any styles that make the bottom part of your face look even wider. (Think curly triangle hair with ends level with the jawline). Plus, making the focal point of your hair closer to your eyes and further from your chin will make your gorgeous doe eyes stand out while making your jawline and braces "fade away".

You can use straighteners to curl hair, but they have to be decent ones (GHD for example).

Firstly section your hair off. take the first section, starting at the top of the hair, grip it with the straighteners then wrap the hair around the straighteners, hold it in place for about 20-30 seconds, then just unwind loosely.

Styling your hair like this is not difficult at all.

This works best with a thin ceramic straightener.

Place your straightener about an inch away from your scalp. You can actually choose where you would like to start depending on where you would like the curl to start, or the style you are trying to accomplish.Twist the iron completely around and then pull it down toward the ends of your hair, while still twisting. Running it over your hair slowly will create a tighter curl; going quickly will create a looser curl or make it wavy.

REMEMBER : do this in layers, doing it randomly will give you uneven curls, and sometimes you might miss strands of hair.

using your straightener, will cause it to hold better especially if it is a ceramic straightener. So do not load it with hair spray, use as little as possible, but still enough to hold it to give your hair a more natural look.

I have very curley hair and have been straightening it for years, however I have recently decided that curley hair rock the *** off of straight hair and now wear it the way God intended!

I've been using serum to keep the curles defined and shiney, but I'm worried that it's going to give me bad skin. Am I right? Has anyone got a secret with regards keeping curely hair tame without causeing spots? I have none as yet but I feel like they're in the post! I don't wear any make up and before this I never used styling products in my hair. Thanks guys.

I only use Paul Mitchell extra body sculpting foam in my natural curly hair --if I'm not straightening it --it keeps it nice and tame, it gives my curls definition and it isn't sticky or gross. My hair is movable and it doesn't look like I use product. Nothing is worse than a head of curly hair that looks like it has 3 pounds of hairspray in it. I use about a palm size for each side of your hair. I have thick hair so that does it for me, if your hair is thin use one palm size amount for both sides. I love my hair and my family owns a salon - trust me on the Paul Mitchell, I've tried every product that comes in the salon and I always go back to my Paul.

I also do a ton of cardio and I've never had skin problems. Just make sure to hold your hand over your forehead if you are spraying hairspray after the moose. For hairspray - try Sabastian Shaper Hairspray.

I love to do my hair both ways, I have natural curly/waves and if I scrunch up with moose it looks really pretty, I love the locks. But its nice to be able to wear is sleak and straight because I have a nice cut with layers and side bangs. Change your hair up once and a while, don't ONLY wear it one way. Natural curls rule! We are lucky that we can wear it both ways. Whenever I wear my hair curly to work they call me Blue Lagoon :) ---I like that

hi ya, join the club hun i too have mad curly hair, i did used to used serum but i found it to oily, like u say u may get a loverly break out...doh!

i now just use mousse, i find it always looks better if i use my diffuser on it, so i wash it as normal, get a handful of mousse and scrunch it into my hair mainly at the ends and no the root, otherwise it can look greasy and poxi spots appear, then i use the diffuser to dry it..woop woop its done!x

I had dramatic hair loss for about a year.. You really need to go to a doctor and have bloodwork done to see if there is a hormonal component to the hair loss... If it is, there are several medications that can be prescribed to slow down or stop the hormonal signal that triggers hairs to fall out. If that is not found to be the case, then the next thought is a vitamin deficiency (chk iron - i think these things can be checked with a blood test too). An "effuvium" (a period with noticeable and unusaul hair loss) is triggered by stress, acute injury, or diet/weight changes.... If its stress, the doc may prescribe an anti-anxiety medication to help (my dermatologist actually recommended this to me, but I did not want to take the meds - I'm kinda anti-medication)... Emu oil applied topically to the scalp has been proven to stimulate hair growth (google it) and I have had good results with a product line called Nioxin - its for thinning hair. It sounds like you're too young for the genetic component to be the main factor, so keep investigating and trying things until the hair loss stops.. I'm sure you will figure it out with enough persistence.. And, until then, don't worry too much!

You have what i would call naturaly frizzy, and unruly hair. I would try the redken line smooth down, which contains light wazes and oils to smooth the hair shaft. I use it and afterwards i dont even need to use straighteners.

So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom. It was one of those "cold wax" kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off. No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. !

So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the hair. The hair that should be on the strip. I touch. I am touching wax.

WHAT?! I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair.

Then I make the next BIG mistake...remember my foot is still propped up on the toilet? I know I need to do something. So I put my foot down. My LIFE FLASHES BEFORE ME!!!!!! I hear the slamming of a cell door. *hoo-hoo*? Sealed shut! Butt?? Sealed shut!

I penguin-walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and think to myself "Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off!"

What can I do to melt the wax? Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!!! I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should melt and I can gently wipe it off, right??? WRONG!!!!!!!

I get in the tub - the water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit.

Now, the only thing worse than having your nether, regions glued together is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot water. Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax.

So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cement-epoxied myself to the porcelain!!

God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!!!

I call my friend, thinking surely she has waxed before and has some secret of how to get me undone. It's a very good conversation starter - "So, my butt and *hoo-hoo* are glued together to the bottom of the tub!"

There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me. While we go through various solutions. I resort to scraping the wax off with a razor. Nothing feels better then to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!! By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major dive and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this event.

My friend is still talking with me when I finally see my saving grace....the lotion they give you to remove the excess wax. What do I really have to lose at this point? I rub some on and OH MY GOD!!!!!!!

The scream probably woke the kids and scared the dickens out of my friend. It's sooo painful, but I really don't care. "IT WORKS!! It works!!"

I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up. I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair....

THE HAIR IS STILL THERE.......ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!!!

So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts. I could have amputated my own leg at this point.

hey - i know the feeling, happened to me once as well, neva again to happen - i use exfoliator instead - u know the pink thing from babyliss - its called sommat silk, and comes from argos - its like jus rubbing ur hair away and trust me it doesnt huirt at all - ive head the same experience as u, so shud know that what i am tryin does not hurt at all!

neva forget the time it happened to me though - i only had my mobile in the bathroom wiv me - and that didnt have any credit on it, so had to kinda push onto my arms to get myself out of the bath, and then stood up, and rubbed myself down wiv a wet wipe, and then the lotion - it killed, but it worked in the end!

I'm no hair expert, but I don't think moose or gel will damage your hair. I wouldn't comb your hair with that stuff in it b/c it may cause breakage and split ends, but I think you're good there.

I haven't heard that about coffee. I think it would have to be a ton of caffeine to cause that and if you are drinking 1 cup a day you should be fine.

As far as your ethnicity goes I think it more of less just depends on genes. Why can't you cut your hair? I would at least trim the split ends b/c some people have long hair, but the bottom half is dead and it just looks unhealthy.

Just make sure to eat well and exercise and take care of yourself. I think vitamin B, E or C (maybe all) are good for your hair, skin and nails. Do weekly conditioning treatments on your hair as well just to keep it healthy.

Record holders aside, most people have a limit to how long their hair will grow. It will simply stop growing after it gets to a certain length. I know this because I've been trying to get my hair past medium long for about a decade now. I literally have not cut it for a decade, and it has literally not grown a single inch (and no, I don't have a lot of split ends) Good luck, but don't set yourself up for dissapointment.

I have natural curly hair but you could never tell cause it's friggin straight...what products could I get to get my hair back to curly? I have tried almost everything that I could think of to make my hair even somewhat wavy or curly and nothing has worked. I have used chemicals on my hair (hair dye, hair bleach) and I was wondering if maybe that could have altered my hairs apperance (loss of curls) I want to find something that might bring back my curls. I thought of cutting all my hair off LOL and a perm but that (perm) would be my last resort. I dye my hair to no end, and it hasn't ever resulted in a loss of my natural wave/curl.

Is it wavy when you get out of the shower? If so, try scrunching it then, using a really strong hair gel. (Your hair'll be crunchy, but hey, it'll be curly/wavy.)

That's about the only way I can get mine to stay curly all day long, though. (I live in Florida, so the humidity does horrible horrible things to my hair.)

Try combing it instead of brushing, my hair is more curly/wavey when I comb it. Again, try a strong hair gel. If it's slightly curlier when you mousse, try using the mousse and a comb.

I dont think that you had naturally curly. If so, it could be staright now, even after how much of chemical treatments (unless rebounding/straightening) you would have done to your hair.

Well, for the time being, you can use mousse or hair sprays to create curls and if you dont want all that hassles, then you can go for a perm itself.

Bumble and Bumble Curling shampoo is the beginning and end of any curling shampoo and conditioner you will ever need. It also has a curling creme. There is also one that I found in London - perhaps you can get it online - called Gianfranco Ferrer and the shampoo and conditioner is called Curl Friends. Both of these products make your hair silky and smooth, don't weigh down the curl and even just smell really good!!

Also there are some products that I get in the regular drug store that aren't bad either. One is FX curling products - I like the curling spray. There is also SAMY - they have some good stuff and good old Pantene has never steered me wrong.

You are correct about processing your hair - I have often thought that my hair seemed straighter when I colored it. I don't know what that's about, but fret not - today, curly hair is just as sexy as straight hair. The products I mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg.....

I have the same problem. When I was younger, my hair was very curly. As I've gotten older the curls have kinda faded. I still have a little bit left though. I just use a little bit of gel and scrunch it. It seems if I straightened my hair the day before, it won't be as curly as if I didn't. If gel won't work, I would suggest getting a body wave. It's a lot more relaxed than a perm. You're right, the perm will make you look like a poodle, even if your hair is long. A wave will make it curly and it will be big curls that will make it look really pretty rather than the tiny curls. When you get your hair done, you can always ask then to use bigger curlers so the curls won't be so little. Good Luck!!!

First off, what ugliness? Adorable. You have a lot of potential with your hair, but the "emo scene" is kind of limiting. If you want to go lighter with your hair, that would be cute for spring/summer. I wouldn't go too much lighter- just a few crown highlights. I think if you went a little bit darker brown it would be really suiting. The lighter colors in your hair right now would add tone to a light chestnut color.(!) Side bangs would be nice with your facial structure. They accentuate the eyes, make them look bigger or more dramatic. If you want a shorter cut, you are lucky because I think you could pull it off. Your cheekbones, face shape, etc allow for a shorter cut- which are really popular, i.e.- Michelle Williams new pixie cut, or Katie Holmes bob. Hope this helps a little! Good Luck!

what is a hair cut that will work with fine hair texture but medium - thick hair density? i have looked on some websites but most of them seem to believe that fine hair texture goes hand in hand with thin hair density.

I have the exact same hair. In fact they like to all come and have to feel my hair (it's baby fine) but when I would get a perm they would get mad because they thought I had thin hair and found out that I had a lot and would have to call later appointments and reschedule.

The best hair style for me is a long bob and long layers with the hair stylist texturizing the roots. This volumizes and gives it a look of fullness. Teasing the roots also gives it volume!

First, you need to use salon quality products - shampoo, conditioner, gel - not garnier. Second you need to take time to blow out the hair. Starting from the bottom, section your hair and dry each section before moving on. Get yourself a large paddle brush, and slightly bend the ends as you are drying. Then finish with a defrizzing oil and hairspray. If you take the time and do this right, you may not even need the straightener.
